How do you sum up decades in a single letter? I've been trying to figure that out, and I keep coming back to this: we built something beautiful together.

I remember when we were young and thought we knew everything. Turns out we knew almost nothing, but we figured it out together. Every challenge we faced, every joy we celebrated, every ordinary day we lived - we did it as a team.

You've been my partner in every sense of the word:

• In raising our family
• In building our home
• In making our way through this complicated, wonderful life

I couldn't have asked for a better companion for the journey.

What I want you to know is this: I would choose you again. In a heartbeat. In a hundred lifetimes. Not despite our imperfections, but because of them. We were real with each other, and that's rare.
